Have you received an email like these purporting to come from HMRC? There seems recently to be a lot of clients asking about emails claiming to come from HMRC. They are right to check as these emails could seriously damage your wealth!

  • Could not process Online Submission for Reference ***/
  • Gateway Registration Notification
  • PAYE – P6/P6B ‘You have received new messages from HMRC’

If you do, please don’t open them or click on a link or attached zip file as they are scams or phishing emails. HMRC are quite clear that they ‘will never send notifications of a tax rebate by email, or ask you to disclose personal or payment information by email’ and all of the above are listed on their website.

So, if you are unsure what to do then look at some examples and check out their current list of scam emails at the following link. Or you can always drop us an email to check.
